The Ashin-do Kai Squad attended the AMA
run International event at Nottingham over the weekend of
February 23rd/24th. Our competitors faced the best from Iran,
Sweden, Ukraine and of course Great Britain and once again
walked away with an impressive medal haul.

A superb performance in individual Kata
saw Kieran Nunkoo and Navin Patel go all the way through to face
each other in a nail-biting final and a close run contest saw
Navin just pip Kieran to Gold with Kieran in
Silver medal
place!! Incredible! |

In the girls Kata events, Hunisha Patel
performed brilliantly to take Silver in Individual Kata.
Hunisha has been working incredibly hard on her Kata this
month and the effort paid off.

On Sunday, both Hunisha and Navin took Bronze
medals as part of their respective AMA team Kumite Events. A great performance by

Our other competitors, Nuri Sheikh, Annie
Flannigan, Bethany Ackerley and Stephania Alvarez, whilst not
quite finishing in the medals this time, show spirit and
determination in the face of some very stiff and experienced
competition, well done to all of you! What a great start to the
year and an inspiration to all our squad members, seeing what
can be achieved with hard work, dedication and commitment.
