The Return of the Tuesday Night Class - on a
Wednesday!!
As of Wednesday June 4th, the old Tuesday
night format of class will be returning. We have a new venue
much closer to home and as such, hope all our former 'Tuesday
Nighters' will find it more convenient and easier to attend.
The new Venue is the Compton Sports Centre
just off Summers Ln in Nth Finchley, quite literally round the
corner from the David Lloyd Centre.
To get to the centre, turn off Summers lane
at the roundabout into the small road that goes to the Recycling
centre adjacent to the rear entrance of Compton school. Before
you reach the gates of the Recycling centre, you will see the
Leisure centre on the left with a car park just beyond it.
This class is for adults
of all abilities/levels and all junior students [under 16] of
purple belt [4th Kyu] and above. All our brown and black belts
are expected to attend this class and it will run as a squad
style session.
Class times are 7-9pm, fees are as normal.
Look forward to seeing you all there!!
Students Do Their bit for Charity - May 2008
On Saturday May 3rd, 8
Ashin-do Kai students and their families attended a charity
event in Elstree to raise money for Cancer Charities. Sponsored
by the Royal Bank of Scotland, the event raised thousands of
pounds and the final figure will be matched by RBS. Our
students, Hunisha, Hanako, Nuri, Bethany, Annie, Devini, Navin
and Kieran put on a demonstration of Kata for the audience which
got a standing ovation. Choreographed by Hunisha with assistance
from our Sensei's, Ricky, Marc and Anthony [all of whom also
attended the event], they displayed not only various Kata moves,
but the significance of each moves in terms of fighting and
defence.

Afterwards everyone enjoyed some great food,
and more demonstrations, including Irish Dancing, Belly Dancing
and a fantastic Drum Band. The crowd then partied into the
night.

A huge thanks to the students and parents
that took the time and trouble to be part of this event, it was
an amazing night and all for a great cause!

Videos Added!
Kyoshi Ricky visited Japan last year, and we now
have videos of him demonstrating Kata at a Japanese Temple.
